Best option - Night Diving

If you’re already a certified diver you might like to consider diving at night! Witness the mind blowing transformation of a coral reef during the night where you’ll see many fish and critters that are active only during the dark. Each night dive is unique and you can be sure to see something out of the usual on most occasions. Sting rays are more active at night swimming out in the open hunting for crabs and crustaceans to feast upon. Squids can be seen dancing and flashing colors whilst attracted to the lights of the divers. Fish that are active and evasive during the daylight are easily observed in close quarters as they rest and sleep amongst the corals such as the Parrot Fish that cocoons itself in its own saliva, an effective camoflage against predators. The large Star Puffer fish rests out in the open undeterred by the curious diver often with ramora, suckerfish, attached to their bodies. Coral themselves branch out their polyps to trap and eat the micro organisms and plankton that are active in the water.

A diver light will attract micro organisms such as worms and cryl which emit light in strips and flashes via chemical reactions looking like a scene from a science fiction movie? The dive light illuminates the true colors of the corals and things you’re familiar with in the daylight can appear completely different and more brilliant at night under a light, night diving Palawan is an experience not to be missed. If you’re not already familiar with diving at night you will need some basic training in the right techniques and protocol for safe night diving.
